Creating and Managing Lists

Lists are a powerful feature in Raise More that allow you to organize your contacts for targeted outreach. This guide will walk you through creating, managing, and using lists effectively.

Creating a New List

  1. Click on "Create a List" in the left-hand menu.
  2. You'll see all contacts in your database initially.
  3. Use the "Narrow", "Add", and "Remove" buttons to filter your contacts:
    • Narrow: Reduces the current selection based on a condition.
    • Add: Includes additional contacts that meet a condition.
    • Remove: Excludes contacts that meet a condition.

Example:

  • NARROW: State is NY
  • ADD: State is CA
  • NARROW: Donation amount > $0
  • REMOVE: Pledge > $0

This example creates a list of NY and CA donors who haven't made a pledge yet.

  1. Once you've applied your filters, click "Save List" at the top right.
  2. Give your list a descriptive name and click "Save".

Managing Existing Lists

  1. Click on "Lists" in the left-hand menu to see all your saved lists.
  2. For each list, you can:
    • View: See the contacts in the list.
    • Edit name: Modify the list criteria or name.
    • Pin: Keep the list at the top of the page for easy access.
    • Archive: Hide the list from the main view.
    • Delete: Remove the list permanently.
    • Make Calls: Start a calling session with this list.

Using Lists for Calling

  1. From the Lists page, click "Make Calls" next to the list you want to use.
  2. This will take you to the dialer interface with the selected list loaded.
  3. You can now start making calls to the contacts in this list.

Best Practices for List Creation

  1. Be Specific: Create targeted lists for different campaigns or purposes.
  2. Use Multiple Criteria: Combine various factors like donation history, location, and interests for more effective targeting.
  3. Test Small Lists: Before creating large lists, test your criteria on a small scale to ensure you're targeting the right group.
  4. Name Clearly: Use descriptive names for your lists so you can easily identify them later.

By improving your understanding of lists and how to use them effectively, you'll be able to better target your outreach efforts.
